Q: For the Preliminary round, candidates are required to choose two pieces from the Romantic period and the Classical period, Can I play a piece by Bach?

A: Yes, this is from the Baroque Period, you may also choose from the Impressionist period or Russian works.

Q: Can I have the profiles of the jury members?

A: a. Preliminary judges are mainly include the elite who are young and highly educated, currently active in the domestic piano industry. Final round judges make up of the world-famous pianist and self-cultivation of high art, but not to play the piano teaching as a career of eminent personalities of the world.

b. During the preliminaries to the finals, some of our judges, please hold solo concerts and lectures, open learning, and other activities in Tianjin and other city in China.

c. To ensure fair competition contestants, jury list is not announced.

Q: If I win, can I have a Solo Concert?

A: Only the winners in each group can take part in the Gala Concert. There is no Solo Concert.

Q: Is it possible to find out my scores from each of the judges?

A: Comittee to be requested the notary to oversee the whole process of the competition. The judges did not accecpt the score of each query case.

Q: I have been playing the piano as an amateur and have also been teaching piano part-time, can I take part in the competition?

A: Yes

Q: I have just graduated from a music conservatory majoring in piano, but have not yet found a job,can I take part in the competition?

A: Not if you have graduated within a year. Otherwise, as long as you are not engaged in the profession of piano performance or teaching, you can take part in the competition.

Q: I want to participate in the competition. Can you tell me the prize in advance? Except the prize can I have any other benefits?

A The award of this competition is not in the form of prize, but to award the corresponding collection and commemorative prizes and trophies. Because of the fewer opportunity of attend this non-professtional piano competition, committee decided that jury will give comments to every candidates and award the competition certificate.

Q: Can I read the scores while playing in the final rounds of the competition?

A: No, you have to memorize the scores.

Q: If I include additional pieces on my video tape/VCD/DVD for the preliminary round, will jury members select the best ones for consideration?

A: No, jury members will not make the selection, so please include the pieces for the preliminary round only.

Q: Can I consult the committee members in person about any questions or issues I may have prior to the start of the competition?

A: Yes, but you have to make an appointment and submit your questions in writing in advance.

Q: Can arrangements be made for any special dietary requests, for example, for vegetarians and those of the Muslim faith?

A: Yes, please indicate your requests on the application form. If we do not receive your request in advance, we may not be able to make the arrangement.

Q: What is the arrangement for accommodation and food during the Final round?

A: The committee will make arrangements for hotel accommodation for the Final round. However, candidates will be responsible for the expenses incurred.

Q: Can arrangements be made for practice before competition?

A: Yes, committee will arrage candidates to practice.

Q: What is the arrangement for air ticket and meet us in airport?

A: The players who attend the finals will afford the tickets by themselves . Please arrange to buy the round-trip air tickets from the players'location to Tianjin, China on their own.And then notify the organizing committee the arriving time in Tianjin, China (Beijing). (Please purchase the tickets of direct flight Tianjin, China if it's available, or please fly to Beijing directly. While if arrived in other places of China Pls.find your own way to get to Tianjin.) During that time, organizing committee will set up welcoming signs at the airport Exit. Meanwhile, participates are also needed to wear your uniform contact signs distributed by the organizing committee after the first round.

Q: What’s the weather like of the final round period in Tianjin China?

A: It will be winter that time, and a little bit cold. However, room, theater, transportation vehicles are equipped with heating equipment, very waem. But to go shopping, even though stores have heating, and you also have to prepare Thick clothes for walking on the street. (One down jacket is ok).

Q:Can you give me more information about Tianjin?

A: Tianjin is an old city and also the economy and cuture certer of North of China. Near Beijing, is only half a hour to arrive Beijing by high-speed inter-city rail. Tianjin have more than 10 million people, opening to the world as an important international port and travel city, many international conferences held here, the sponsor of this competition is Binhai Hi-tech Industry Development Park.

Q: If I wish to travel in China after the competition, can the committee provide any assistance?

A: Yes, we can recommend a travel agent, so you can make arrangements with them directly.
